A flood alert has been issued for Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City. A period of heavy rain is expected to affect mainly southern parts of the area on Thursday through until Friday. River flooding particularly in low lying flood prone areas is possible. Difficult driving conditions and areas of standing water are possible. Some spray and wave overtopping are possible during periods of high tide, particularly during Friday and Saturday.
