A follower asks: I am 8 wks pp today after a RCS at 39.1 wks. During my pregnancy I had complete placenta previa that had corrected itself about 4 weeks before my delivery. Delivery went well. No complications at the time. I went in two days ago for my 8 wk checkup and also to get the Mirena placed. I mentioned to my provider that I am still bleeding from delivery and that it hasnt stopped and that occasionally (rare occasion) I feel a small pain on the right and left side of my incision inside. Also about two weeks ago I sneezed and felt a severe burning pain just to the right of my stomach but it was up high just under my rib cage and still feel that dull burning pain every once in a while faintly. She didnt like any of that and said she wasnt comfortable inserting the IUD in that day and wanted to do an ultrasound. I had that ultrasound today and the doctor called me later today with some preliminary results. She said that they arent sure but it appears theres part of the placenta still inside and went on to describe things. She mentioned that when she did the surgery that there was no problem removing the placenta. I asked her point blank if she suspects placenta increta and she said thats exactly what they think it is and in fact thats what was written in the report by her partner when they reviewed the scan. But to be sure they need an MRI done to either rule it out or confirm it and go from there with treatment options. My question is, is there anyone out there that has experienced this pp after a section? I feel like this is totally strange and didnt realize increta could be possible after a previa had corrected itself. And does anyone know if placenta previas can evolve into an acreta then into an increta? Thank you in advance for any input anyone might have. Im pretty nervous about this. #Support
