A forgotten classic: Movies about injustice have existed almost as long as movies. Beginning in 1967, Tom Laughlin played the character of Billy Jack in a series of four films. The movies were generally about injustice, and were fairly violent. The movies received mixed reviews, but the second of the four movies, Billy Jack, became popular with audiences in its second release in 1973. Regardless of the quality and inconsistent message of the movie, Billy Jack, the movie generated one moderately successful song about injustice that is as catchy and fresh today as it was 40+ years ago when it was first recorded.
