A former Indian army Major Saras Thripahthi has jotted down the sufferings of the Kashmiris in this debut book- Holy Sinner: Search of Kashmir. The book was recently launched by Union Minister of State for External Affairs and ex-Army chief General V K Singh (Retd) in presence of Lt General Ata Hussain (Retd) The book is a collection of the epic bona fide stories out of his live experience which he encountered with when he was placed as a new commissioned army officer in Kashmir valley. The emotional, poignant experiences and incidents which had drenched inside him persuaded him to narrate his experiences in the form of a book. Speaking about the book and Major Saras Tripathi, Gen. VK Singh said, “There are so many complexities you will face while serving in Kashmir valley. You need to maintain the symmetry between local people and army for outcome of desirable positive results.” Tripathi’s book is a narration of sufferings and pain endurance Kashmiris have gone through. Sharing his experience, Major Saras Tripathi said, “During my tenure of serving at Kashmir valley, I had very close feel of suffering of the people. No matter whether an army or a civilian dies, it is women and children who suffer the most. This book expresses the inevitable state of the armed forces happen to be called and perceived to be perpetrators since they have to comply with the orders of government.” Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd) who was delivered key notes address said, “This book has covered almost every required section anyone needs to know about condition of Kashmir’s public, militants, armed forces, insurgents and the Government without visiting there.” The book comprises of 14 heart touching stories based on true occurrences, which reveal more than any analytical book.
