A fresh snowfall can provide you with new leads in your search for your Lost Cat ~ Just be very careful where you step and Do NOT walk on the tracks! Remember the differences between Cat and Dog tracks: Cat prints will not usually have any claw marks (unless jumping or pouncing) Dog prints are somewhat oval, Cats are more roundish. When walking, dog prints are more like marching style, (L,R L,R) while Cats walk in more single file ~ like a model on the Catwalk ;) But, if the snow is deep, or if a cat is running/loping, then its gait will resemble more that of a dogs (2x2) so then you would have to look at the whole pattern overall to try to determine if it is dog or cat prints. The one animal that is tricky and can throw you off are fox tracks b/c they have traits from both cats and dogs -- When walking, they do the catwalk, but if you look close, they also have nail marks and are more oval shaped. So to easily remember Cat Prints: 1) No claw marks 2) More roundish 3) The Catwalk >
