A friend has written this article..... Modi wants India to realize its potential, so do Voters The recent State elections results of Haryana and Maharashtra perhaps confirm that Voters (a large section of Indian’s) want what Modi wants, which is for the country to realize its potential. The maturity of voters in realizing that having BJP led state governments will complement the faith they have put in Modi Sarkaar at the center thereby enabling the states to also grow and prosper to realize their potential as well. One key attribute of leadership is to inspire faith and on this count Modi’s consistent ability to demonstrate leading from the front has played a vital role both when he was leading Gujarat and now India. It would be pertinent to call out a few measures which more than anything demonstrate the zeal to wake up every morning and find new ways to solve old problems and new ideas to shape the future: • Repealing archaic and moribund laws, a list of such laws is ready and the bill is likely to be tabled soon. • Economic reforms initiation post the Finance Minister Jaitley’s recovery and the appointment of the new CEA ( Arvind Subramanian): 1. For example, it has been suggested that there should be no inspection for low risk business and computer based selection for high risk ones. There is also a proposal for a uniform policy and procedure for all states so as to enable the single-window clearance system, along with a combined application form with an institutional mechanism to provide various approvals. 2. The DIPP has cited examples from various countries such as Malaysia, New Zealand, Canada, Rwanda, Turkey and UAE for easing up the processes and reduce delays. It has also been suggested that the requirement of minimum paid-up capital for starting a business should be done away with, as 90 countries have no such requirement. 3. The movement of Mehrishi as the Finance Secretary will bolster the urgent need for land reforms. The above are small examples which prove that Ideas are well thought out and action is initiated to give the impetus needed to translate ideas into reality. For those hectoring that “Make in India” is just a slogan need to be honest in assessing the measures being devised to make it happen. • The infusion of vision and energy in Foreign policy ( again led by Modi himself) backed by strategic security inputs provided by the meritorious and bright NSA( Ajit Doval) were visible in Japan, United States and even the visit of the Chinese premier to India. What perhaps went UN noticed post the U.S visit was that the United States has asked Pakistan to take permission to redeploy the Fighter aircrafts provided for the AfPak war to any other base. It has been worryingly known for a while now that the arms and ammunition provided for the AfPak war can be diverted for aggression against India. While the worry has by no means subsided, it is indicative of cognizance and measures being taken. • The cancellation of Indo-Pak talks with the same docile MEA spokesperson (Syed Akbaruddin) telling Pakistan firmly to either deal with the separatists or with the Indian Government reflects the transformation of protecting National Interest and self-respect as complete. The retaliation at the border conveys that we will no longer come to the table under duress is loud and clear. All the above in 150 days of Modi Sarkaar leaves little doubt on Intent, Vision and Action to make things happen. It makes for amazing reading and viewing that certain media houses, anchors and of course the likes of Mani Shankar Aiyar, Anand Sharma tying themselves in knots and fabricating arguments to suit their convenience. Post the bye poll losses of the BJP this brigade went to town saying this Govt is the most unpopular in Just 100 days and the voters have given a fitting reply only to find that Haryana and even Maharashtra (BJP + Shiv Sena are over 65% of the seats) voted overwhelmingly for the BJP and booted out Congress from their strongest bastions. Media reports very politely indicate the rift and decline in the Congress and the amusing debate continues about state units need to take responsibility for failure and not Rahul Gandhi. The fact of the matter is that Leadership needs to inspire faith, faith based on ability and actions and Rahul Gandhi has failed to do so ever since one can remember. Congress can continue protecting the Obvious incompetence of Gandhi Scion at their own peril. Expecting a mule to race like a horse by dressing him up in Nike Keds will not transform a mule to a race horse. The repeated attempts to accuse Modi of being an event manager , Marketer on account of the Madison Garden show and now the J&K Visit begs only one question, if all it takes to inspire faith and win elections is Marketing, what is preventing the Congress from Marketing itself? The last we checked Marketing was still not illegal. We must be the only country where we politicize a PM elected with an absolute majority visiting one of our own states. The call for Swach Bharat Abhiyan was embraced by not just Tharoor but Tarun Gogoi as well and being carried forward by Salman Khan who in turn has invited Aamir Khan, Chanda Kocchar and many more. The Congress should realize that their unwarranted criticism only exposes that they were bereft of ideas for six decades and this Government is coming up with new ideas every week! It was shocking to hear Sonia Gandhi’s speeches in the state election rallies continue making the same shallow charges at the BJP which the voters had already rejected during the National elections! Empty vessels make more noise; communalism is a threat and so on. Rajdeep Sardesai (the only journalist who did not get to interview Modi prior to 16th May 2014) is back through Headlines Today spouting the same inanities that nobody except Modi & Amit Shah matter in the BJP who have risen on merit but never stating the obvious with the Gandhi family owned Congress. While it is clear that both the Congress and certain media personalities have not only failed to see the writing on the wall but have also failed to see the wall actually crashing in on them, the people of India are increasingly looking forward to a Brighter future and an attainable one under the leadership of Modi and the NDA. : Parag Amalnerkar Twitter@Indiaunfolding Facebook/stickerrant paragamal@gmail
