A friend of mine has recently chastised me about my recent direction towards the Orthodox Christian faith. She takes issue with the belief that Mary is holy as well as the Saints. She says ONLY God is holy, we are all sinners...I have always thought that way too and I think of Romans 3:23, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. I was raised with her in the same protestant church since our births and she is like a sister to me. When referring to Mary or the Holy Saints or Holy Water(she asked what makes the water holy?) , does that mean the same Holiness as with God? I understand the concept that some things are a mystery and we have to rely on faith sometimes, but I feel like I need to justify myself to her somehow, if that makes sense. Or rather to show her the truth with love, but I dont know how yet :/ Please forgive my ignorance and thank you in advance.
