A friend of mine posted her protest of Pittsburghs minimum wage. When she learned of the wage was at $7.25/hr, she snapped. Pittsburgh was (KEYWORD: was) The Working Mans City. College tuitions and well-off retirements were built on steel mills, teaching, hospitals, and breweries. The cost of living matched the wage and working people were able to live...not just survive. What happened? I could rant on Pittsburghs need to rid itself of the mid to lower classes. I could speculate on our failure to respect and empathize with those less fortunate, but Id rather hear from you. It has become the new tradition to move away from Pittsburgh in order to live well. Even outlining cities to Pittsburgh have proven to be more lucrative. Why? Talk to me...
