A friend of mine posted on Facebook yeaterday some excellent tips from Waren Buffet that I wanted to share with you tonight: ON EARNING: Never depend on single income. Make investment to create a second source. ON SPENDING: If you buy things you dont need, soon will have to sell the things you need. ON SAVINGS: Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving. ON TAKING RISKS: Never test the depth of the river with both feet ON INVESTMENT: Do not put all your eggs in one basket. ON EXPECTATIONS: Honesty is a very expensive gift. Do not expect it from cheap people. Everything that Mr Buffet said is so true. As a City Council we are very aware of the sanctity of our tax dollars and are very conservative and mindful of the how and why they are being spent. We keep a legal surplus for emergency contingencies and hold every department head accountable for their budgets. We purposely look for ways to diversify the way the city recieves its tax dollars so we are not so dependant on sales tax dollars alone. Our city, becasue of forward thinking fiscal policy, has been able to survive the economic downturn and continues to provide a high level of service to our citizens. I am proud to be apart of that process and ask for your support. I would also like to thank all of you who took the time and came to the Elementary School for Meet the candidate night. It was a great time to get to know all the candidates. We are in the home stretch. Make sure you cast your vote. It will make a difference!
