A friend of mine posted this. It resonated with me so Ill share it with you... A Little Fable about Revenge By Ray McAllister Once upon a time, a man lived, died, and went to Hell. While the flames didn’t seem to touch him, he wondered why such was his fate, so he cried out to Heaven for an answer. Suddenly, a bright angel appeared next to him. “Why am I here?” the man asked, “Shouldn’t I be in Heaven as a follower of God?” The angel paused for a moment and then replied: “Oh, your place in Heaven is secure. But, well, there was that person, and you know who he is, who really, really hurt you back on earth, and all you could think about was how you’d get revenge. Heaven has decided that everything you think should have happened to him is actually well-deserved. The trouble is that nobody up there particularly wants to come down here to administer the punishment. Heaven’s just so beautiful with the Tree of Life, golden streets, the best music in the whole universe, and all. We also know that for you to truly be satisfied by the punishment, you should oversee it, so you can make sure he suffers exactly what he should suffer. So, I will give you a fire-whip, and show you where the man is. The more you strike him, the more he suffers according to how you wanted him to suffer. When you think he has suffered enough, just stop, and call out to God. The keys to your mansion are safe and will be given to you, then.” The man took the whip from the angel and whirled it around for a second, and then said, “Never mind. Just take me home.” Don’t let the love of revenge keep you from experiencing the fullness of God’s blessings. Leave getting even to God, and just enjoy His peace.
