A friend posted a comment defending political discussions on FB by saying that, if the founding fathers were alive they wouldnt be posting pics of cats. That got me wondering what (besides incisive political comments) the founding fathers would post on social media. Heres what Ive come up with: *George Washington* 1) Photos of the ongoing renovations to his house, Mount Vernon, with tedious explanations of each new detail. 2) Expositions on the importance and benefits of crop rotation. 3) Map-My-Ride notifications of his horseback rides. *Thomas Jefferson* 1) Humble-brag Instagram photos of his own hand holding immensely expensive wine bottles in Monticellos already incredibly well-stocked cellar. 2) Doodles of impractical inventions designed solely for his own convenience/indulgence. Example: a recessed accordion arm decanter and corresponding pressure-sensing coaster for automatically refilling nearly-empty whiskey glasses. *Ben Franklin* 1) Barely-appropriate photos of curvy women with accompanying limericks that are far dirtier than they initially appear. 2) Trolling comments about Jeffersons inventions. 3) Devastating but amusingly written critiques of objectively bad movies and books. *John Adams* 1) Scripture verses, with brief but insightful commentary. 2) Posts on other peoples walls that he clearly intended to be private messages. Example: Franklin: Jeffersons credit card got declined at Cafe Du Park again, leaving me to cover another three bottle lunch. Ask George to have another talk with him? He only listens to fellow Virginians.
