A friend posted a quote that said, Be the mom you want them to remember. I wonder what my girls will remember about me... Will they remember the weary, broken mom, struggling to hang on in the darkest moments of life? The mom who was so depleted she hardly had energy to smile at them? The mom who sometimes lost her temper whom they affectionately deemed, Momzilla? Or will they remember the mom who made her way to the altar to find healing and restoration? The mom who learned to cling to Jesus? The mom they often found laying across the bed, weeping and crying out to God? The mom clutching her Bible to her chest or standing in the pulpit preaching the precious Word of God? The mom working in the altars or ministering to someone in need? Will they remember the silly mom who tickled and teased in talked with crazy accents? The mom who planned little adventures and stumbled upon a few misadventures? The mom cuddled up with them on movie night or dressed up with them to go out for Chinese food? I am certain they will remember all of it, the good, the bad and the frightfully ugly, but it is my prayer that their dear little hearts grasp the love and grace of God which has seen us through every trial and that the smiles and laughter which have ministered joy to us even in the weary times will be ever etched in their minds. God, please help me to be ever mindful in the new year of the mom they will remember!
