A friend shared with me an article in yesterdays NYTimes entitled, A Star Player Accused and a Flawed Rape Investigation by Walt Bogdanich. The article basically outlines questions regarding the investigation of FSU QB Jameis Winston and his role in a possible rape case that occurred in Dec. 2012. Concerns were raised in the article about how the TPD and FSU handled the situation. My best buddy is a retired law enforcement person and from the get-go he had questions about decisions that were made in the investigation and the length of time regarding certain elements in the case. The most telling comment in the story was the following statement by Georgia Cappleman, the Chief Assistant State Attorney, who told the times, I believe that Mr. Winston cannot be convicted, then added, I dont necessarily believe that hes innocent. What??????
