A friend to a number of friends of mine committed suicide this week. I didnt have the pleasure to know this person, unfortunately, but my heart goes to those she touched. For those who did know her, or know people whove been close to or did take their own life, I wanted to share this. My friend John is walking to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. You can donate to his walk or walk yourself. Many of us suffer from depression, and mental health care in this country is atrocious. We owe it to the living to work toward a future where people can easily get the treatment they need, and where mental health problems arent stigmatized.
