A front will remain draped across the Plateau today keeping the mild air to the east across our area and the colder air to the west across Middle Tennessee. There will also be some colder air on the eastern side of the Smokies as cold air from the Northeastern U.S. funnels down the east side of the Mountains. We will see scattered showers across the area again today, with the most likely areas to see the rain being along the Plateau up into Kentucky. This front lingers across the region tonight into Wednesday, so there will be little change in the forecast over the next 36 hours or so. It will remain mostly cloudy and mild with random showers possible. The front will push far enough east to give us a break from the rain on Thursday, but another cold front approaches late Friday into Saturday, increasing the opportunities for rain once again. Also, it still looks like we will not see any sub-freezing temperatures for a while. Today: Mostly cloudy with 60% coverage of additional scattered showers. High: 62°. Tonight: Clouds linger with 30% coverage of spotty light showers. Low: 48°. Wednesday: Staying mostly cloudy and mild with 30% coverage of random light rain showers. High: 61°.
