A funny story: Back in 2009, I met Buzz Da Artist via eBay, when he was selling some original Akira cels due to a family crisis. I was a huge fan of his Vampirella work back in the 90s, and it was an honor to get to meet him. I promised him (and will always honor the promise) that if he ever wants to buy them back from me, he could, despite my very publicaly known policy of not selling Akira art (we both agreed that the worst thing that can happen, after all these years of collecting and reuniting all this art, is for it to fall back into the hands of speculators and sharks). Over the years, hes become a trusted friend, confidant and brother. He was there for me when I needed him most during a few bad nights over the past few years. Today, due to life being, well... Life, I made the very hard decision to sell some original Akira cels on eBay. Before they could be purchased, he swooped in and bought them, and told me I could buy it back whenever Im ready. Funny how the world turns, isnt it? And despite all that has happened to me the past few years, events always end up like this: in the middle of darkness, a candle is lit. It seems that every single negative thing that happens ends up being another opportunity to see just how amazing life can be. And while it sucks to have things like divorce, homelessness, debt, theft, the loss of friends and whatnot happen the past two years, somehow the darkness just keeps serving as a backdrop for all these little lights in my life. I love you all.
