A funny thing happened on the way to New Mexico.. about 10 miles - TopicsExpress

A funny thing happened on the way to New Mexico.. about 10 miles south of Pueblo, my car was acting funny so I pulled off on Burnt Mill Road exit. Somewhat safe, my aunt and uncle live just over the hill there. So as I check things out, the thing chuggs to a stop and I have no power. Call to Mike, he helps me troubleshoot, I start looking for whats wrong, cause I am obviously not going anywhere soon. Eventually I find these plastic connectors behind the battery that are fried. Melted. Crumbling in my hand. Ok, a spark when they jiggle... They are just connectors. So I have recently watched Mike wire the trailer lights, this couldnt be too tough. Im slow, but 2 hrs later it is all rewired. About a dozen cars came down this exit. These people are in the boonies.. do they stop and say hey lady, need help? Nooooo. I admit I probably looked a little scary out there in the heat. When I finally had all the melted wires replaced, here comes a car. Woohoo. I needed a jump! They were about to speed on by but I flagged them down. They agreed to go home for jumper cables, and actually came back. Got a jump and it worked! My car is running better than it has in months. Great mileage the rest of the trip, and I learned a lot. And I am thankful that I brought a man tool box. Lots of gripping tools and wire strippers, etc. Yay. But lol, the star tool was my jewelry pliers, small enough for my hand.
