A funny thing happened on the way to being robbed. Its the holidays, of course some demon would try to ruffle my feathers. Unfortunately for him/her, I do not have feathers...I must have left the car door open in fair Baltimore. Someone helped him- or herself in; ransacked whatever was there to ransack. We keep our real valuables in our hearts, so theres hardly anything worth taking. There were, however, seven 18 carat gold bangles in the glove compartment. ( I hate wearing jewelry. So, I tend to take them off as soon as I get back in the car from a function. I must have forgotten to bring the bracelets back into the house that night). I keep a few business cards in the car, a battery charger--just in case; a CD case from the old days, my favorite pen, some change, and a Haitian Flag. When I discovered the crime scene, I laughed. The thief must have seen the Haitian flag and decided he had picked the wrong car. My 18 carat gold bangles (which I purchased from the Dollar Tree) were still there. Not a single thing was taken. I hope it was the Haitian flag that convinced the holiday demon to change his mind. I can imagine him/her finding my flag and fearing that I just might know enough Hollywood voodoo to ruin his New Year before it even began. Color me blessed!
