A funny thing happened the other day. Not ha-ha funny. Ive been considering a new camera and have been doing a good bit of research online, reading reviews, watching YouTube tutorials, Googling best prices. This had been going on a couple of weeks when, on Caroles Facebook page, up popped an add for the camera. Yes, on her FB page an add for the camera Id been researching. Not too subtle, eh? Now, I like FB, Google, YouTube and the rest and Im not going to run screaming from the virtual room because those services are looking over my shoulder and mining my data. But it did, I confess, make me rather hinkey. As a result, I make two changes I thought worth sharing. I switched my browser (from Chrome) to Firefox. Firefox does not mine or sell or report your browsing history. (Committed to you, your privacy and an open Web is the Firefox mantra.) And two, I left my beloved Google Search for DuckDuckGo. (The search engine that doesnt track you.) DDG, a fully functional search engine with all the bells and whistles, doesnt keep record of your searches, collects no data on you, sells nothing. And yes, lest you have any doubt...I bought the camera.
