A gem that most people dont know: Famous US spy John Walker gave a huge number of top secret plans to the Soviets. The Soviets needed to get the US new code machine (the KW-7). Israeli spy J. Pollard stole top secret information, including where the code machine was being used, and Israel (for reasons relating to getting Jewish scientists to emigrate to Israel from Russia) took that information and disclosed to the Soviets that the USS Pueblo had a KW-y on board. That is the real reason why North Korea captured the ship. Eventually, President Nixon wanted to send a SEAL team to sink the ship but politically was unable to do so. North Korea made the ship into an anti-US propaganda museum that is still working strong today. The debaters about Pollard (those seeking his release and those seeking that he remain in prison) never really mention this issue.
