A general meeting of Kendriya Vidyalaya Pragatisheel Shikshak Sangh (KVPSS)members was held at Sir Chhotu Ram Dharmshala near Keshavpuram Metro Stn. Delhi. Sri Kapil Sibbal, the Law Minister of India and the Chief Guest on the occasion, was accorded a warm welcome by Sri P.V.Chhikara , General Secretary, KVPSS and other officebearers of the Association. Mr. Chhikara acquainted the Hon.Minister with the grievances of K.V. teachers like enhanced working hours, implementation of MACP Scheme, CGHS facility and conversion of CPF Scheme into GPF Cum Pension Scheme.Sri Sibbal expressed his approval for the first two demands and assured the teachers that concrete steps will be initiated to alleviate the distress of the teachers.He pointed out that teachers are the nation builders and they can build a strong nation if they are contented and satisfied. He pointed out that since he began his career as a teacher, he can empathise their situation.Sri Azad Singh,Mayor of North Delhi, also strongly supported the demands of the teachers and assured the august gathering that he will try his level best to fulfil the demands of the teachers.
