A glance at the comments by people who were happy that Kiss Of Love protesters could not make it to Marine Drive (in fact, illegally blocked by fascists, lavishly showering lewd remarks and threat of violence) is that the vast majority of them echo a common sentiment. They are unsettled by the idea that a woman can own her body! Do not take me for granted over here. Analyse the responses for yourselves. The opposing gang (mafia would be a mild word!), in general, have no issues when a daughter kisses her dad, or a son kisses his mother. They are innocent and I agree. They are (at least theoretically) not opposed to siblings of different gender kissing and so much better. They have a problem when a man and woman engages in a kiss- lip-locked or otherwise- in public. One of the main differences between this and other cases is that this one implies a lack of ownership. That man and woman are free individuals, whether they be friends, lovers or married. The fact that there could a free woman, terrifies a rotten society. Everything else follows.
