A good AIN Development Dialogue session with Nepali journalists at Yala Maya Kendra today. Thanks and appreciations to to Deepak Raj Sapkota, Ravindra Shakya and Achyut Luitel for being such excellent resource persons. At the function, I spoke about the global aid landscape, gave a brief historical overview of aid, with references to Nepal, Busan Principles, global governance, etc. Deepak ji spoke about the step-by-step process of how INGOs are regulated and audited in Nepal. Ravindra ji explained how to interpret some key numbers, ratios and headings in INGOs audited financial reports. Achyut ji shared his knowledge of fund-raising for both restricted and unrestricted grants. Plenty of challenging and good questions from the participants. The tone of the interaction was frank, conversational and information-seeking. Well done, and thank you to Lucky Gurung and Reshma Shrestha for all the background preparations (for the past few weeks), without which the program could not have gone well today.
