A good Word for your Sunday. Fire and brimstone preaching. Should there be any other kind? Definitely not. Sugar coating the gospel lets people go through this portion of eternity not knowing that this lifetime is everyones time to choose between an existence in heaven or an existence in hell for all eternity. When people hear sermons stating the gospel truth, they shy away from listening to it. They dont want to hear it. Maybe they dont like how forceful the message of impending doom in hell is. Maybe they want to be happy, happy all the time. They cannot be saying to themselves, I cant waste time listening to my future and actually choosing to do something about my existence in eternity. Instead, I will bury my head in the sand of good thoughts and merry times? But that fateful day is coming when you will leave this earthly life and enter into your next step in eternity. Where will that be? Per the Bible, it is stated quite clearly in Luke 16:22-23 where people will be upon death, given their actions or non-actions in this life. For example, And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abrahams bosom [in Heaven]: the rich man also died, and was buried, And in hell [the rich man] lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Two scenarios. The beggar is symbolically the saved person. On the other hand, the rich man is symbolically the unsaved person. Instantly upon death, they arrived at their next stage in eternity. Now is your choice of where you will be when you pass away and again open your eyes in eternity. Where will that be? Will it be at the hand of the Lord Father, or will it be in Satans abode? Personally, I have chosen to be with Christ. Life on this earth is a hard enough experience. I dont need eternal torment and if I have a choice, which I do and I have made my decision, I now know I will not be a part of hell in my eternity. I know I am not nearly the best person on this planet and I know my sins had sentenced me to an eternity in hell. But the Lord Father loved me so much, He gave His only begotten Son on the Cross to suffer payment for my sins. YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND YOU ARE A SINNER AND DESERVING OF ETERNAL DAMNATION. Once you KNOW you are destined for an eternity in hell and there is nothing YOU can do to change that, you will take the choice to either seek the Lord for help OR shrug it off and do nothing. I must say that if you KNOW you are destined for hell, you will be terrified as to that consequence. You will seek the Lord. You will beg for Gods mercy. And He will give it to you. You will have chosen to repent of your sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and obey His Holy Word. The thief (satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus Christ) am come that they might have life, and that [you] might have it more abundantly John 10:10. If you do not believe you are deserving of hell, you will have chosen to go on doing the things that YOU think will get you to heaven. You might take the easy path and say you believe in what the Lord says. However, James 2:19 says, ...the devils also believe, and tremble. Those devils are not going to heaven and neither will you. You and what you do, are not the way. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me John 14:6. The Christ is the way. You need to believe with all your heart on the shed blood of Jesus Christ and be saved for eternity. Choose Christ now, you may not have a choice later, as tomorrow is promised to no one (Proverbs 27:1). As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more (Psalms 103:15-16). As will your choice be no more.
