A good day to discuss… What would you consider your most valuable possession? When you think through the typical list of possibilities, you might come up with a beautiful home, or your new car. Some may think of their home theater or their extensive music collection. It could be your wife and children or some form of art or exotic jewelry. Well where they all may be some nice possessions are they really your most valuable possession? Consider time… It is now time that you stopped trading your life for instant gratification or pleasure in the moment; instead invest your most valuable possession, namely your time to invite meaning and fulfillment into your experience. Your life is not a dress rehearsal; every moment you live is the real deal. There is not going to be an opportunity to have a make-over or a second take, once you reach the end of your life. Now is the time to get it right, now is the time to make those few small sacrifices necessary to succeed, and now is the time to live in the present and to begin taking daily inspired action, to make things better. Stop acting as an absenteeism landlord over your future any longer and take ownership of your life today. You can make things better, if you choose to. Allow me to share with you the value of time: To understand the value of a year, talk to a student who has just failed their finals. To understand the value of a month, talk to a baby born a month prematurely. To understand the value of a week, talk to the publisher of a weekly magazine. To understand the value of a day, talk to the publisher of a daily newspaper. To understand the value of an hour, talk to a couple in love who are separated and want only to be together again. To understand the value of a minute, talk to someone who has just missed a plane. To understand the value of a second, talk to someone who has lost a loved one in an accident. To understand the value of a millisecond, talk to someone who won a silver medal at the Olympic Games. Time waits for no one. Gather all the time you have left, every moment, and it will be of great use to you. Share it with the people you love and value and it will become even more precious.
