A good friend and a team mate of mine with our Green Rock Prison - TopicsExpress

A good friend and a team mate of mine with our Green Rock Prison Ministry, Rod Ellis, was called home to be with the Lord this past Monday. Rod was 72 years old and had served with the US Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was graduate of Texas A & M University and the Master of Divinity Program at Liberty Unversity. His current ministries included work with The Salvation Army, Green Rock Correctional Facility in Chatham, Virginia, and a Deacon of the Timberlake Baptist Church. He made many trips to Burundi, Africa where he worked with Allow the Children Ministries, where he taught in the Pastors Bible School at the Kigobe Mission in Bujumbura. Rod will be missed by his large family and everyone that knew him. He will especially be missed by his seven team mates that go to the Green Rock Correctional Facility. Rod touched so many offenders there during our bible studies and veteran support programs. I know they will miss seeing Rod every month with his kind words, good heart, and message of Hope and Forgiveness. Rod, May you have Fair Winds and Following Seas. RIP
