A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That EVERY idle WORD that men shall SPEAK, they shall give account thereof IN THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT. For BY THY WORDS thou shalt be JUSTIFIED, and by thy words thou shalt be CONDEMNED. Matthew 12:35-37 Let us make sure what the treasure is in our hearts. Is it the Lord or His things or something/someone else? Sometimes WE make His things and service to Him become the treasure of our hearts instead of Him. This is idolatry. Anything that eclipses our love for Him IS an IDOL even those that are of Him. Read about ISRAEL in the OT and we will know all about that because history repeats itself. The Lord blesses us with many things and people but He never gave them so we will worship and make idols of them. He gave them so we know that He is God and He alone is worthy of ALL worship. WE love Him FIRST and GREATEST because out of our love for Him will flow the love for others! Paul says, For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor 5:10a). NO ONE will be exempted. The judgment will happen first in HIS household. OUR words will either justify us or condemn us.
