A grand jury has spoken, YET the world is watching and history will record if we learned the power of strategic response. The greatest response any community can have is through their vote, unity, peaceful protest and their will to channel pain into positive purpose. We must be courageous enough to protest all violence and abuse whether from law enforcement or from ourselves; whether from police or pulpits; whether physical, psychological or theological. The loss of our sons and daughters should not be muted. But we have the power to ensure that their lives are not in vain. Let us use this energy for the next presidential election, for our conversations with our local and state officials and for the improvement of our communities. History is waiting for us to write it.
