A grateful thanks to Long Beach Fire Department for their quick response to a fire this morning (6am) at the Nature Center. The fire was quickly extinguished and trails opened as usual. Please be aware that smoking is prohibited in all parks and beaches in Long Beach. Notify Nature Center staff or Park Rangers if you see anyone smoking on the trails. The smoky skies above Long Beach today are a good reminder of how dangerous wildfires can be. Please remain vigilant, especially during these drought conditions and Santa Ana winds.
