A great TEDx talk to listen to. Few things I pulled out: -The US has the highest cancer rate of any country in the world. -If people move here from countries like Japan, their likelihood of developing cancer increases four fold. -1 out of 2 men and 1 out of 3 women in US are expected to get cancer in their lifetime. -1 out of 8 women have breast cancer. Of those, 1 in 10 have a genetic form of breast cancer. This means that 9 out of 10 are caused by environmental triggers. -She also discusses the fact that our tax dollars are going to fund modified food crops/commodities while the organic or natural farmers have to pay fees to be able to have that label that indicates their crops are free from pesticides/gmos. -large companies have reformulated their products to be safer to meet the standards of the countries they ship to outside of the US. Its a scary world out there folks. Be aware of whats going into your body and how its effecting our country and our health. The US spends more on health care than any other country. Starbucks spends more on disease management than on coffee. Small changes in your diet can make a BIG impact on your long term health and hopefully on the food industry here in the US. #realfood *Link to video in comments.
