A great comment from a reader: Rebecca Flannery: .Election day is coming! Please consider voting out any representative who has supported the damage to public schools in Indiana. Please understand that rather than support Glenda Ritz, our superintendent of education who won by more votes than any other elected position, many of our current representatives have stood by silently while the governor created a second school board, with appointed members and higher salaries than Glenda Ritz. Those salaries could have been used to address the issue of poverty, which has a huge impact on education. Many of our current representatives have supported the push for charter schools and vouchers, in spite of the lack of evidence that these schools do well. PLEASE vote, and PLEASE help reverse the current trend to destroy our public schools. In District 4, that means voting for Deb Porter.
