A great fuzzy grey blanket lies draped across the sky, thick and dark, from which fat, round drops of rain are steadily falling, splashing and rippling on the small lake that was once a skylight below me, sending shudders through the leaves as they crash like small boulders into them... Its hard to imagine how small insects survive such a pounding, sometimes, so heavy are the drops... I guess youd have to say that the easter holiday is most definitely over - enjoyable as it was - and here we are, back to business as usual, except that my youngest has an insect day - as they so endearingly call them - and wont be back to school til tomorrow... Meanwhile, the rain falls steadily, bringing freshness and vigour to all the plant life - we havent really had a good downpour for some while now, so this one will go a long way towards redressing that imbalance - even if it does mean dreaming up indoor distractions for the little one... Ah well, it was fun while it lasted! :¬}
