A great many Mormons are some of the nicest people you could ever - TopicsExpress

A great many Mormons are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. But gaining eternal salvation isnt about being nice... or good. Its all about faith in the work of Jesus Christ on our behalf, that He gave His life for us on the cross. And if we transfer that faith to anyone else but Jesus, then we are making a grave mistake, no matter how well we speak, dress and act. Being good can cause us to start transferring our faith from Jesus to ourselves, because good behavior can give us the false sense of worthiness before a holy God. When we compare ourselves to one another, we can always find ourselves as being better than someone else. But when we compare ourselves to God, then we must conclude that we need a savior, because were ALL imperfect. In the video below we see that these young Mormon men are doing their best to spread the word about Mormonism. Theyre sincerely willing to work hard for their church. But sincerity and industriousness is of no account if your belief is misplaced. We all know that Christianity is a couple of thousand years old. Mormonism is only a hundred or so years old and expresses itself as an updated version of Christianity, as the latest revelation from God. And the Book of Mormon is considered by Mormons as an update to the Bible. But as this video proclaims, we dont need an update to the truth as found in the Bible. We just need to read the Bible and abide by it. But Mormonism isnt the only cult or religion that considers itself to be an update to Christianity. Islam does that as well. If you read the Quran, (another book that attempts to replace the Bible), you will find that it is all about proclaiming Islam as being the latest and greatest revelation of Allah to man, (Allah being a very poor representation of the true God). Like Mormonism, Islam is nothing more than a cult that became so large that it is now considered a religion. And like Mormonism, it redefines the status of Jesus Christ as being less than He really is. Mormonism reveres Joseph Smith. Islam reveres Mohammed. But if we want to find eternal salvation, then it is the Lord Jesus Christ who should be revered. Are there good Mormons? Yes. Are there good Muslims? Yes. But no matter how good those people are, theyre dead in their sins unless they accept the only Savior God has offered us.
