A great op-ed from the New York Times, calls on Mayor Bill de Blasio to begin a serious discussion about the future of the Broken Windows policing policy after NYPD officers were caught on camera choking #EricGarner to death earlier this Month. The #BrokenWindows policy encourages the hyper-aggressive enforcement of non-violent minor infractions. Mr. de Blasio was elected on a promise of being a transformative mayor who would recognize the times we live in and respect the communities whose residents fear the police.
