A great post from Heather Coppin, things are not like this today, but if we ignore the lessons from our history we run the risk of history repeating itself. As we move further to the right as a result of the worst economic recession ( coming to an end now ) since the 1930s, we do see society polarising further to the RIGHT,we see immigrants being blamed for the recession and the poor ( we forgot about the banks and the Government ) which shows that the majority of the world population so not understand financial corrections which have to take place in an economy based on the free movement of capital and the need for values to rise and fall in order for money to be made by the owners of capital, which unfortunately means that those on the bottom of the ladder suffer, if they do not take the opportunity to pull themselves out of their circumstances rather than reply on trickle down economics ( rich people making wealth and passing craps down to the poor) to support them, this image of Ruby Bridges remind us of where we do not want to be as a society if we continue to move to the RIGHT.
