A great song by Puff Daddy and Biggie Smalls. Or P Diddy and Nortorius B.I.G.- whatever nickname people choose to associate to either gentlemen performing this song. Or their real names, respectively Sean Combs and Christopher George Latore Wallace. Now as far as the N word in rap songs. Here is my take on the N word in general. A sentiment I developed after my Ethnic Studies courses. It deserves adherence of no usage from white people. ANd no judgement of its usage from black people. For its negative connotation derives directly from U.S. based sanctioned slavery days. ANd a national discussion on that part of history has never been able to occur (I.e., the assassination climate surrounding the Civil Rights movement). Therefore, if professional entertainers, such as rappers- want to infuse and delegate new meanings and designations (as well as spellings and pronounciations) of the word.... that is fine by me. And does not make such individuals (or the industry they encompass) a terrble and scary thing. I do not fear rap music or the people that create it. That would be more of the hysteria of those not into rap- who promote such hyperbole. Its like facebook. If you dont like it. Then dont listen to it. And allow parents to do their own policing of what their children listen to or allow in household. https://youtube/watch?v=xZ4tNmnuMgQ
