A group of 15 children with special needs has been trained in enterprenuer skills that will enable them become job creators rather than job seekers. The children were drawn from the five divisions of Kampala for the four months training that was supported by Stanbic Bank. Young people with disabilities are more likely to be unemployed than their counterparts without disabilities because 43% of children with disabilities are not considered normal by their families and therefore discriminated. As a result , 55% of people with disabilities lack functional literacy and only 33% of them have been educated only up to primary seven. The children were trained in tailoring , soap making , mats and bead making skills.
