A group of gunmen have stolen 1.26 million U.S. dollars in a bank van robbery in Libyas southern city of Sabha on Wednesday, a local security officer told Xinhua. Six militants set up a checkpoint and searched cars driving by in a countryside area in Sabha, they stopped the bank van heading to a branch of North Africa Bank in the Barak Valley, the officer said, adding that the gunmen robbed it by force and fled the scene. Earlier on Oct. 28, gunmen attacked a van carrying foreign and local currency for the Libyan central bank, stealing 54 million dollars in the Libyan western city of Sirte, 500 km west of Tripoli.
