A group of us as Members of Parliament have today strongly condemned action taken by a court in Isiolo to instruct that NO student shall be allowed to wear a Hijab or long trouser in a certain school. This is in total disregard to the constitution Chapter 4 on Bill of Rights. There is also a government circular to the effect that no school shall deny any student entry into school because of hijab. We have decided to put a lawyer to appeal this ridiculous ruling done by a magistrate.I urge any students or parent of students of any religion who feel any institution has violated their basic rights to kindly come forward.
