A guilty pleasure since childhood has been the dubious art of boxing. Tonight I viewed the long-awaited Hopkins-Kovalev light heavyweight title-unification bout. What was most striking (sorry, pun unintended), I think, apart from Hopkinss still being superb at age 50 and Kovalevs relative speed and agility atop his more characteristically Russian power, was how thoughtful, well-spoken, and gracious these gentlemen were, both during the bout itself and in the post-fight interviews. Note how respectfully Kovalev seeks to touch gloves at the end of Round 1, and the words that both fighters have for each other commencing one hour into this clip. There is something these gentlemen have that too many lack. https://youtube/watch?v=6KAfK2gQeDg
