A guy wrote this (unedited, no apology) ... mmmmmmm Where do I start ....I just finished reading a book......Battle on the Lomba 1987 ( can read by the way just my spelling is up to shit) written by a fine young man, as you can guess by the said young man been a fellow tanker there is no Rooco shit to help sell the book. It is written from the heart and I am sure even though we were not all Ratel soldiers we can relate to his story from call up to the battle itself the tension and smell oozes out of the pages.......as I write this one particular odor springs to mind.....Queen V and the Midmaar dam........ there is something omitting from the book..... when the said man got Shot if he said he screamed like a 12 year old girl all would have been good but to scream like 10 12 year olds,,,,siesman....... no seriously just taking the Mickey. Dave Mannall Salute..... Antelope is starting the book and if she does not ask too many questions you target market in limitless , I would read this and recomend you give it to you wives and grand kids to read, it is writtern without too much fine detail which makes boring reading and impossible to understand for the man on the street. I would like to thank Hilton Naish for the effort you put in getting the book to me. On a final note if anyone says I like the smell of cordite in the morning to one of those guys who fought in THE BATTLE OF LOMBA please dont be surprised if you walk away with a POES KLAP of note.......
