A happy, positive story X2 (times two). A new chapter in Jazzs story. In Sep-Oct I learned of Jazz, a senior girl kitty brought in to the Napa County Animal Shelter. She was considered too old and frail to be re-homed. Against better judgment, since I already had a cat and a half (A neighbor moved and could not take her country born and raised cat to town, for whom I care, besides my own Aby Kiki), I adopted Jazz. It was my hope that Jazzs family would come forward since she was obviously beloved. When I took her in poor girl was skin and bones, vying for food against ferals. Regardless, she had a permanent home with us. She was well fed, filled out and loved spending her days outside basking in the sun. I had to travel in Dec/Jan during which a friend of mines sister, Laura, agreed to care for Jazz while I was away. As it turns out, Laura fell in love with Jazz and expressed her desire to keep her permanently. I was loathe to give Jazz up but already had the love of 1.5 cats. It was the right thing to share the wealth. Originally, Jazz had no future yet ended up earning the affection of two households that treasured, loved and wanted her. While Jazz vacationed with Laura, Jazz saw fit to take a few selfies in the middle of the night. They are attached and, frankly, hilarious. With all of the strife in the world, I do not underestimate the power of animals to bring out the basic bond among us. Jazz is a shining example.
