A healthy Democracy requires a decent society, it requires that we are honorable, generous, tolerant and respectful. From the above statement it is clear to me that most politicians today who pay high sums to be called progressives and champions of the rule of law are actually hypocritical. A practical example is the Governor of Rivers state. He is dishonorable owing to his treacherous activities, lies, media propaganda he has been churning out to unsuspecting citizens who are gullible enough to be hoodwinked. He has refused to tell the public that his vicious and unwarranted verbal attacks against the president is not as a result of policies and actions against Rivers interest by the president but due to his personal ambition of wanting to elevate himself by any means possible to become the highest ranking public officer from the south south zone . He deliberately accused the president of ceding soku oil wells to his home state when he knows fully well that the boundary adjustment exercises that caused the whole dispute between Rivers and Bayelsa was not done under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, it preceded his assumption of office. He also accuses the president of abandoning the east west road which also is not true. The construction of the road is in progress and lack of funds and some readjustments in the project caused some delays. Other Governors in the zone including Adams Oshiomole of Edo state who happens to be in the opposition would not tell lies or misinform the public against the president who is not in the same party with him. I do not understand if Amaechi wants Jonathan to use his mandate to develop only Rivers state at the detriment of others. aside from these two major issues that the Governor usually twist to whip up sentiments and justifies his over ambitious treachery there have been no other reasonable point raised and yet people have not bothered to ask the Governor to state his real grouse.
