A healthy relationship with God requires intimate knowledge of his revelation in the bible. God desires that we have more than a mere acquaintance with the facts of his word. In Hosea 4:6 we find that God wants his people to know him personally. The priests of Israel were well acquainted with the laws of God, but they live immorally because they didnt really know God. If we do not have a growing and intimate relationship with God, we will have great difficulty as we work through the recovery process.
