A heart-rending story which is unfortunately a fact and not fiction. A courageous, conscientious and wise young women.....angelic......divine........ very touching, depressing and uplifting at the same time; depressing is obvious, blatant, grotesque injustice; uplifting bcoz we need such divine human spirit to redress the ills plaguing a beleaguered humanity and an endangered world. Finally, Iranian women are no pushover;...infact, far from it : this year the mathematicians Nobel : the Fields medal was awarded to an woman for the 1st time to the Iranian mathematician based at Stanford univ : Maryam Mirzakhani. Further, the best PhD dissertation awarded by the journal Review of Economic Studies, honoured Iranian PhD student Maryam Farboodi of Chicago univ in the subfield of financial economics.....and this martyrdom of the nobel, spirited human only buttresses the sad realisation that the Iranian society lies crushed under the jackboot of irrational male-dominated religious totalitarianism.........
