An altruistic husband, convinced that he had become an obstacle to his wifes happiness, became more insistent for a divorce as the blackness of night crept across his eyes! These are the threads of life, love and tragedy stretching through the divorce complaint filed In Alameda county In which Mrs. Anna G. Ferris. 2742 Garber Street. Berkeley, asks divorce from Captain Frank O. Ferris. U. S. A., retired. Suit was instituted by the wife finally through the husbands unwavering demands for a solution of their marital problems, Mrs. Ferris revealed in the complaint. Mrs. Ferris embodies in her petition a letter written recently from her husband insisting that the sadness which had been written in his life should be effaced from the life of his spouse. An excerpt from the letter follows: Eyesight Is failing and it Is now necessary to ask for the separation I have long desired from you and prepare for the home for the blind that I require and will seek at once. Mrs. Ferris with pity swelling her heart fought against her husbands demands for a severance of ties. She incorporated a letter pleading against divorce. In this missive she said: I cannot believe that you would want him (their son, now I8) to give up his career at this moment and start out to making a living, as that is what it would mean. But that has never occurred to has occurred to me that you think of it and the thought of such a step has utterly crushed me. (the son) is just beginning life and his spirit must not be broken, and I beg of you to try and save our home, I do not know how will do all within my power to find a way to help you and the boy. Captain Ferris remained adamant. After five years of separation the wife has sued for divorce.
