A hearty crew from Christ Church braved 34-degree temperatures and stiff headwinds to run a 6K course along the Chicago lakefront on Saturday November 1. The 6K length (just under 4 miles) is the average distance walked daily by children and women in the developing world to obtain clean water. Through todays run, Christ Church members provided funding for the digging of clean water wells that will change this reality for a couple dozen of those people. Overall, the event raised some $50,000 for clean water projects -- a life-changing initiative that will touch more than 1000 people for the good. At least four of Christ Churchs runners also took home medals for finishing in the top 3 of their age and gender division. Congratulations to Dave Mahar who placed 1st in the 50-54 segment. And YOU thought he was only 35!
