A horrific rapid intensification in less than 6 hours (a.k.a. explosive deepening) occured as SUPERTYPHOON RUBY (Hagupit) enters the Philippine Area Of Responsibility. Winds have accelerated to 220-280 kph moving West-NW at 25kph. It is expected to slow further slow down as it nears Eastern Visayas in the next 2 days. Forecasted tracks still split with a scenario showing RUBY hitting south of Samar, Northern parts of Leyte, Cebu and Panay like Undang 1984 and Yolanda 2014, or a scenario hitting Leyte, Cebu and Negros like Ruping 1990. Another scenario shows a track similar to Yoning 1988 that would hit Samar, Masbate, Romblon and Mindoro; while a much hoped scenario where it moves to the coast of Bicol all throughout the Polillio Is. like Unsang 1988 or Loleng 1998. Everyone is advised not to panic and be calm since its still 2 days away. Just do enough preparations for its possible effects like winds greater than 180 kph so sturdy your houses and prepare packed food and plan your evacuation targets. Keep praying guys!
