A house is not a home..... When the Amateur League started just a couple of years ago, it had support from many competitors and officials who no longer accepted to be made subordinate to the whimps of people who seem to have only respect for dancing if it is a recognized sport and use all their time and money to reach out for Olympic Recognition. As if dancing in itself has no value without that...... Those pioneers who took a stand for dancing deserve every bit of respect. In just a few years they proved to have a raison dêtre and built up a beautiful house from what was maybe perceived as a shed in the beginning by some; not to last for long. This last year proved it is even more than just a house; it is a home where people belong and sense security for themselves and the future. To create this feeling of belonging and believe in the future are probably the most important achievements of the WDC Amateur League. It is not so difficult to give competitors a good comp. It is very difficult to change a believe. And that has happened this year! This solid ground makes it easier for others to follow suit and enter our new home, where they are welcome and can join in to give our dancing (whatever you name it: sport, art or entertainment or just dancing) back its history and a sound future where competitors can really enjoy dancing a competition and be embedded in a warm atmosphere. A great compliment surely is due for the coaches of the Amateur League who were capable to raise the quality of dancing to the highest level in the world. Second to none! We welcome all to experience our new homes all over the world, where dancing in itself has value.... The WDC Amateur League is here to stay.
