A housewife on Monday night lodged an FIR at the NJP outpost accusing one of her neighbours of raping her for the past many days. The suspect has managed to escape and the police have launched a manhunt. Police sources said the woman is married and has two kids and lives in Jotiakhali area near Phulbari. She has alleged her neighbor, Md Noor Alam (25), raped her several times over the last few days and threatened to kill her and her husband if a single word was uttered to anyone about his acts. The victim said she was too terrified initially to tell anyone, but eventually gathered courage and informed the police the crime being committed on her. The victim’s family members have urged the police to nab the accused as soon as possible.
